KSCSTE–NATPAC officially launched its Golden Jubilee celebrations with a Curtain Raiser ceremony, marking 50 years of excellence in transportation planning and research.
The event was inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister for Public Works, Shri P. K. Basheer, who appreciated NATPAC's contributions to Kerala's transport infrastructure and emphasized stronger collaboration between research institutions and government agencies for sustainable infrastructure development.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashalatha R., Director, KSCSTE–NATPAC, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the institute's journey of executing over 100 major projects across 15 states. The function was presided over by Dr. P. Harinarayanan, Member Secretary, KSCSTE, who outlined NATPAC's research vision aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event also marked the launch of the Golden Jubilee Logo, Golden Jubilee Activity Calendar, and TRANSFORM 2026 Logo. Felicitations were offered by Shri Bidur Kant Jha, Director, New Technology for Highway Development, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, and Shri K. R. Cleetus, Councillor, Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
The celebrations continued with the panel discussion, "KERALA ON THE MOVE: Shaping Future Mobility for 2047," moderated by Shri T. Elangovan, Former Director, NATPAC. The panel featured Shri Bidur Kant Jha, Dr. M. P. Ramnavas (Kochi Metro Rail Limited), Dr. Kuncheria P. Isaac (Founder Vice-Chancellor, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University), and Prof. (Dr.) Tom V. Mathew (IIT Bombay & Chairman, NATPAC Research Council), who discussed integrated, sustainable, and technology-driven mobility for Kerala.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. S. Shaheem, Senior Principal Scientist, KSCSTE–NATPAC, and was attended by scientists, former colleagues, senior government officials, and distinguished guests.
As NATPAC celebrates its Golden Jubilee, it reaffirms its commitment to research, innovation, and sustainable mobility.
