As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of NATPAC, a Scientist-Student Interaction session on “Prospects in Transportation Field for Civil Engineering Students” was successfully conducted on 21st May at NATPAC's Regional Office Ernakulam for about 20 B.Tech students of KMEA Engineering College, Cochin, India.
The programme commenced with opening remarks by Dr. Ashalatha R. Director, KSCSTE-NATPAC, highlighting the importance of not only research, innovation, and emerging opportunities in the transportation sector but also the need to develop interpersonal communication skills and an orientation towards being a team player.
This was followed by an overview of NATPAC and further delved into the sub-themes of transportation, data requirement and software used for analysis, culminating in career opportunities in transportation delivered by Shri. Anish Kini B, Principal Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge, NATPAC Regional Office, Ernakulam.
The interaction continued with technical sessions by Dr. Anila Cyril, Dr. Rameesha T V, Dr. Vasudevan N, and Smt. Ardra S Krishna, who presented their ongoing works and shared insights into contemporary research and developments in transportation and allied domains.
NATPAC also acknowledges the support and participation of the faculty members from KMEA, including Dr. Biji Chinnamma Thomas and Dr. Megha Mohan, for facilitating student engagement.
The session provided students with exposure to real-world transportation challenges, current research initiatives, and potential academic and professional pathways in the field.
